Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I hope you all had a blessed celebration of Christmas with family and friends and that your New Year is off to a good start.
I would like to ask for a few minutes of your time to share with you some significant news in the Archdiocese of St. Louis, joyful news that resonated across the entire nation. Most of you by now are aware of the news regarding my predecessor, the Archbishop Emeritus of St. Louis, Raymond Leo Burke. On behalf of the Archdiocese, which I have had the blessing of leading since 2009, I would like to offer a heartfelt congratulations to Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke. What a joy it was to join hundreds of St. Louis Catholics in Rome on the occasion of His Eminence’s elevation to The Sacred College of Cardinals by His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI!
